Representatives of the US administration feared that Russia can use chemical weapons during the war against Ukraine, resorting to it if Russian troops continue to suffer failures at the front.
According to reference to six representatives of the Joe Bayden publication of Politico, which are not named after the names, they believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin can turn to chemical weapons rather than nuclear, with warnings against the use of which representatives of the United States previously acted.
It is reported that the United States discuss with the allies the need to be prepared for such a development of events. At the same time, the publication emphasizes that American intelligence does not have data on the direct preparation of a chemical attack from Russia.
If Russia still decides to use chemical weapons, according to US representatives, most likely will not go about its open and demonstrative use. Substances can be used, the use of which in the subsequent analysis is difficult to prove.
Russia denies that it has a chemical weapon.
Independent investigators and Western countries claim that the Russian special services, obviously at the direction of the authorities, used the nerve-paralytic matter of the Novice for several assassination attempts, including Alexei Navalny. The Russian authorities deny this.
Moscow, in turn, accused Ukraine and Western countries of preparing provocations using weapons of mass destruction - so -called dirty bomb, chemical or biological weapons. The evidence was not given.
