The journalistic association Barents Press announced the suspension of work in Russia from next year

The journalistic association Barents Press International on its page on VKontakte announced the suspension of work in Russia from January 1, 2023.

announced “Today’s situation has dramatically changed the possibilities for safe and open cooperation between Scandinavian members of Barents Press and their Russian counterparts,” the statement said.

The association was created in the early 1990s with the aim of developing cooperation between journalists from different countries of the Barents region. The organization includes representatives from Russia, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

The project will continue to work outside of Russia.
