The Ministry of Justice officially included the Meta company in the list of extremist organizations

The Ministry of Justice has officially added Meta , which owns Instagram and Facebook , to the register of extremist organizations. Information about this appeared on the ministry's website.

The agency justified the inclusion of the company in the list by the decision of the Tverskoy District Court, which in March recognized Meta as an extremist organization. The reason for this was the temporary permission to publish on Facebook and Instagram . calls for the “death of Russian invaders” in Ukraine

In October, Rosfinmonitoring included Meta in the register of terrorists and extremists.

In the fall, at least two Facebook and Instagram users received warnings against extremism. The prosecutor's office considers “committing actions to attract users” to these social networks and “posting materials there” as “a form of participation in the activities of an extremist organization and inducement to participate in it.”
