The prosecutor's office of the Vasileostrovsky district approved the indictment of fraud against Petersburgers. They appropriated 20 million rubles, which were intended for snow cleaning, the investigation believes. This was reported in the telegram channel of the department.
According to investigators, three Petersburgers formally employed three janitors, who were supposed to clean the streets of the Vasileostrovsky district from October 2021 to 2022. At the same time, the employees themselves did not fulfill duties, although the authorities of St. Petersburg continued to allocate money for their work.
In total, Petersburgers assigned more than 20 million rubles from the city budget, follows from the prosecutor's office. The organizers of the scam issued fictitious documents on the performance of duties. Presumably, the accused held administrative positions.
Three Petersburgers were accused of fraud committed by an organized group, using their official position, on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). They face up to 10 years in prison.
