The mother of two children cannot resign from military service due to the absence of a decree on the end of mobilization

Mother of two children Vera Antonova (not her real name) has been serving in the army under a contract for 14 years, working in the paperwork of one of the military units. The last five-year contract ended on 6 October. But the woman was automatically transferred to the category of “volunteers” and they refuse to fire her due to the lack of a decree on the end of the mobilization announced in Russia. She herself told the Mediazone about this.

“On the day the contract ended - October 6 - I was on sick leave with my children. When I returned, they told me: “We will not fire you.” The head of the unit did not talk to me, only my immediate supervisor and the head of the personnel department. No, they didn't offer me any alternative. They said, "Serve." How long to serve? Until the end of mobilization,” says Antonova.

According to her, she was told by her superiors that she was now considered a "volunteer employee." At the same time, Antonova's transition to this status was not formalized in any way and no one asked her consent.

In her own words, due to the difficult working conditions and the inability to quit, the woman is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. “I have been crying for two years now. The psychiatrist told me: “If you don’t cry, you will go crazy.” I can sit in a meeting and cry. I can't take antidepressants - I've been driving for four hours. Before the end of the contract, I had at least some peace of mind. Now I understand that I don’t have it either, ”says Antonova.

On October 28, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu publicly reported to President Vladimir Putin on the completion of mobilization measures, later Putin himself once again announced the end of the mobilization announced by him. At the same time, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov assured journalists that a separate decree on the end of mobilization is not required.
