Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky has ceased to be a dollar billionaire, Forbes writes.
Kolomoisky's fortune, which was estimated at $1.9 billion before the war, has now fallen to $850 million.
The reason for this was the nationalization of the companies Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta , shares in which belonged to Kolomoisky, the publication notes.
- The nationalization of Ukrnafta, Ukrtatnafta, and a number of other strategically important enterprises became known in early November. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained it by the need to "meet the urgent needs of the defense sector." The media wrote that this decision was a "shock" for Kolomoisky and his entourage.
- In 2019, Kolomoisky was linked to Zelensky's presidential campaign: the businessman publicly supported the politician; the media speculated that he could be behind the financing of his campaign.
- In the summer of 2022, Ukrainian media reported that Zelensky could sign a decree to strip Kolomoisky of his Ukrainian citizenship. In the State Migration Service's passport verification register, his passport is listed as invalid, but no official announcement was made about the decree being signed.
