In the Saratov region, a criminal case was opened under the article on “fakes” about the army (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) against Oleg Nepein, an activist and deputy of the Municipal Council of the city of Balashov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. As Nepein said, on December 1, a search was carried out at his home, as a result of which security forces seized two computers, two phones, flash drives and a hard drive. The deputy notes that the investigative actions were illegal, since he was not familiarized with the search warrant. Then the man was taken to the Investigative Committee for interrogation, where he was forbidden to photograph the case materials.
According to the court order on the search (available to OVD-Info), a criminal case was opened against the activist due to comments about the war in Ukraine, including events published in the Saratov-Engels telegram channel. In total, according to the deputy, he is charged with 11 statements.
