The New York Times, citing a senior official from the government of Ukraine, reports that the drones that attacked the Russian airfields Engels-1 in the Saratov region and Diaghilevo in Ryazanskaya on the morning of December 5 were launched from Ukrainian territory.
Presumably, Ukrainian special forces were involved in at least one of the strikes, which were located near the airfields and helped direct the drones to the target.
On the morning of December 5, there were explosions at two Russian military airfields - "Dyagilevo" near Ryazan and "Engels-2" near Saratov, which are located 500 and 750 kilometers from Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the attack of drones on military airfields was carried out by the Ukrainian military "in order to disable Russian long-range aircraft."
