World Cup 2022. The results of the first round of playoffs: seven absolute favorites and Morocco will play in the quarterfinals

• On December 6, the last two participants in the ¼ finals were determined. They became Morocco (Spain beat them on a penalty) and Portugal (defeated Switzerland). All results are here .
• In the 1/8 finals, nominal favorites (Netherlands, Argentina, England, France, Croatia, Brazil, Portugal) won seven out of eight matches. Only Spain could not pass Morocco.
• The winners of the two matches (Morocco - Spain and Japan - Croatia) were determined in the penalty shootout. Players beat terribly: in total in these two series, only seven out of fifteen were realized. Typically, post -match penalties are clogged in 70% of cases.
• The Morocco team reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup for the first time in history. Each of the other seven teams at least once played at least in the semifinals (and four of them won the World Cup).
