20-Year-Old American Who Attacked Lady Gaga's Dog Walker Sentenced to 21 Years in Prison

James Howard Jackson, 20, who injured Lady Gaga's dog walker and stole two of the singer's French bulldogs, was sentenced to 21 years in prison. He pleaded no contest, NBC reports .

The attack took place in February 2021. Ryan Fischer was walking Lady Gaga's three French bulldogs. Jackson shot him and took two of the three dogs. Fischer was seriously wounded but survived. In court, he said he forgave Jackson, The Los Angeles Times reports .

After the bulldogs went missing, Lady Gaga's representatives said they would pay $500,000, no questions asked, to anyone who returned them. They were returned by a woman who was laterarrested for her role in the crime.

In total, four people were detained in the case, in addition to Jackson. The investigation considers two of them to be direct accomplices in the attack. None of those detained in the case, except Jackson, have yet been convicted.

According to the investigation, the attackers decided to steal the French bulldogs, not knowing that their owner was Lady Gaga. The motive was the high cost of dogs of this breed, writes CBS.
