Congress in Sochi

So winter has come: snow, cold, short days, clouds. In general, the season evokes depression, apathy and the desire to sleep, wrapped in a blanket. But we are not such, Russians, and this is not our life! If we were accustomed to succumbed to decadent moods, then unfriendly countries would have longed to erase us from the face of the earth. And winter is only in joy: skis, sledges, drunken jumps in the snow from the bath!

Particularly good now scientific youth: after all, now it is the subject of special care of the country's leadership, like science as a whole. Grants, scholarships, programs and, finally, congresses and congresses. More recently, from December 1 to 3, the II Congress of young scientists was held in the Sirius Science and Art Park, in which more than 3,000 participants from 40 countries took part. The weather was not bad, as orderly: sunny, 14 degrees of heat.

I envy the scientific youth with white envy: the sea, the park, Sochi ... It was written on the website of the event that a rich and diverse program awaited the participants in the congress, which included round tables, expert sessions, panel discussions, new informal and original formats of events. An exhibition of achievements was also held on the priorities of scientific and technological development and the initiatives of the decade of science and technology, sports and cultural events were held.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous! A huge party of young scientists is mainly up to 30 years, who established horizontal ties among themselves. Sometimes, especially taking into account the situation contributing to this and different informal events, horizontal ties, I have no doubt, grow into vertical ones. But there are vertical connections (you can do at home) - some lucky ones were incredibly lucky: they were selected to meet with the national leader and had the opportunity to talk to him!

No wonder the site says that the II Congress of young scientists is a key event in 2022 as part of a decade of science and technology. The main thing is what? Cynics and dull pragmatists think that the main thing is money, romantics believe that the main thing is a science management system, but we know that the main thing is completely different. The main thing is patriotism and unlimited faith in the capabilities of your country and your capabilities!

In an incomparably more difficult situation, during the Great Patriotic War, our fathers and grandfathers survived, giving all their strength at the front and in the rear. It was hungry and cold, but our scientists worked and gave out the results necessary for the country. And not some particularly greenhouse conditions and super-high salaries contributed to this, but faith in victory, in the wisdom of the leader and the party.

Tell me by conscience, if you increase your salary by 50 thousand rubles a month, will you work better in the appropriate proportion? And if for 100 thousand rubles a month? Well, of course, no! In our country, the level of remuneration has long been weakly related to productivity and effectiveness. In the nineties of the last century and at the beginning of the two thousandth, we received pennies, but worked with full dedication. Then large lots appeared, some began to receive a lot of money, not too increasing the intensity of labor. And then, according to the decree of the beloved president, we were all increased to salaries so that they would become twice as high as the average. And what, Muscovites began to work 2-3 times better than scientists from Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Ivanovo?

In general, we perfectly see that money does not motivate real scientists. Dorog, as they say, is not a gift, dear attention! And it is for them that the authorities generously dress us, showing their non -replacement attention to the problems of science, declaring a year, and then a decade of science and technology. Especially generous attention they pay youth, conduct special youth events, considering them, so to speak, the climax and apotheosis of the events of each year of a decade of science and technology. How should this inspire our youth!

And imagine: every year until the end of the decade, such a supermotivating congress will take place, every year thousands of young scientists with burning eyes will return to their universities and scientific organizations in order to provide impressive scientific and innovative breakthroughs. By the end of the decade, I have no doubt that in our country scientific and technological development will beat the key, and we will supply innovative products to Brazil, India, Iran and China.

But this is in the future, for this you need to spend more than one congress, but for now, the window is snowing and a decade of science and technology.
