VkusVill confirmed the leak of personal data of customers, which was reported the day before by specialized Telegram channels. We are talking about the personal information of several hundred thousand users.

VkusVill found out about the leak on the night of December 8-9. “After carefully studying the situation, we realized that third parties received files containing public data of some of our customers, namely: phone numbers and email addresses, dates and amounts of orders, and the last 4 digits of a bank card number,” the press release . says services.

VkusVill continues to investigate the incident. Representatives of the company emphasized that the full name, addresses and full payment information about bank cards were not included in the network.

The profile Telegram channels originally wrote about the VkusVill data leak. So, according to the “Data Leaks” channel of the founder of the DLBI service Ashot Oganesyan, hackers revealed 242,245 unique phone numbers, 233,194 email addresses, dates and times of orders, payments and delivery from December 5 to 7, as well as order amounts and last numbers bank card numbers. It is clarified that this was done by “a source that has already “leaked” the data of participants in the loyalty program Tele2, Russian Post, the GeekBrains educational portal, the Delivery Club delivery service, and many others.”

• Since April, the Ministry of Digital Development has been developing a draft law on turnover fines for information leaks. Depending on the circumstances of the offense, it was proposed to fine the legal entity in the amount of 1-3% of the company's annual revenue. A mitigating circumstance for the company that leaked could be compensation for damage to 2/3 of the victims.
• At the moment, the Code of Administrative Offenses establishes fines for data leakage for legal entities from 60,000 to 100,000 rubles, in case of repeated violation - up to 500,000 rubles.
