More than 4.3 Russian troops and mobilized announced the desire to surrender to Ukrainian captivity. The speaker of the project “I want to live” Vitaly Matvienko said this in a commentary to the Freedom channel.

According to him, with everyone who has submitted applications, "all the necessary work is already being carried out so that this procedure is safe."

On October 20, during a briefing, Matvienko said that both families of Russian military and relatives of those who have not yet been mobilized turn to the hotline phones. "They say:" A summons will come from day to day, we do not know what to do, we want to survive, we are hostages of the situation. " There were cases that men cried. Also, existing military personnel who are located in Ukraine are also called. There are also calls from the temporary-occupied territories-Donetsk, Lugansk regions and Crimea, ”Matvienko shared.

At the same time, he emphasized that he does not call the exact number of applications in the interests of their security.

On December 13, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released a video instruction for Russian soldiers and officers how to surrender to a drone. First of all, Russians should contact the “I want to live” project and, if necessary, get the coordinates of the starting point. The Ukrainian military decided to use drones to make the surrender process safer for all participants in the process.

On September 20, the State Duma introduced in the Criminal Code Article 352.1 “Voluntary surrender”, according to which such a crime - in the absence of signs of state reception, is punishable by deprivation of liberty for a period of three to 10 years.
