NYT: VGTRK employees broadcast news from the FSB and the Ministry of Defense

At least 750 gigabytes of files were related to preparations for the war in Ukraine and its beginning from January to March. It turned out that the propagandists followed the instructions of the FSB and the Ministry of Defense on how to cover the events that caused international resonance, "drawing a rainbow picture of the war, which actually worsened."

On February 24, the FSB officers sent a letter to the VGTRK, which said that the Ukrainian military was throwing their posts. In another letter, special services stated that Ukraine allegedly seized a cargo civilian ship.

In March, the FSB sent the propagandists a message that two Ukrainian officers who allegedly killed civilians and were terrorists were killed on the battlefield, and asked for this information without mentioning the service. So they did.

In the same month, a video with the Ukrainian refugee was sent from the Ministry of Defense, which stated that on March 16, the drama theater in Mariupol, in which civilians were located, blew up Ukrainian nationalists, and not bombed the RF Armed Forces. “Please use in the materials,” the letter said.

Also, Nyt writes, Russian propaganda used quotes from conservative Western media, such as Fox News and Daily Caller, the performances of Chinese politicians and videos from little -known accounts in Telegram and Yetube to create the impression of Russia's victory in the war.
