
The Irkutsk Legislative Assembly adopted the amendments by which orphans participating in the war in Ukraine should receive a social payment for the purchase of housing “in a priority”, reports Taiga.info.
According to the authorities, 46 orphans from the Irkutsk region who are fighting in Ukraine are in the queue for receiving housing under the law.
At the beginning of the year, there were almost 14.7 thousand orphans in the region, and only 453 people received payment for the purchase of housing per year.
According to the law, the authorities must provide an orphan apartment for the 18th anniversary, graduation of an educational institution or service in the army. Every year, the share of orphans who manage to get housing is reduced, and wrote “important stories”. By the beginning of 2021, almost 192 thousand orphans over 18 years old needed in the roof above the head. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Education, more than half of Russian orphans receive housing through the court. In 11 regions, orphans can completely achieve apartments solely by court decision.
“Important stories” believed how many years in different regions an adult orphan will wait if he will not go to court, and the apartments will be given in the same number as in 2019. The Irkutsk region is one of the 12 regions, where the expectation exceeds 20 years. According to our estimates, the average line of queue is more than 25 years.
Antiloders are the Republic of Tuva, the Udmurt Republic and the Astrakhan Region: the waiting time for housing for orphans in these regions is more than 40 years.
