EU introduced the ninth package of sanctions against Russia

As part of the ninth package of sanctions against Russia, the European Union, due to its attack on Ukraine, introduced a complete ban on operations with the All-Russian Bank for the Development of Regions and froze the assets of two more Russian banks, the press release on the EU Council said.

In addition, the European Union initiated the suspension on its broadcasting territory NTV, NTV Mir, Russia 1, REN TV and Channel One.

According to new restrictions, it is forbidden to submit services for advertising, market research, public opinion polls, as well as products testing services.

Citizens of the European Union, according to the ninth package of sanctions, are prohibited from holding positions in the governing bodies of legal entities controlled by Russia and in organizations in Russia.

Among other things, Brussels will expand the ban on exporting goods and technologies related to aviation to Russia, including drones.

A ban on new investments in Russian energy and mining sectors was introduced.

The Switzerland authorities decided to join the new sanctions of the European Union against Russia, as well as the ceiling of Russian oil prices. In addition, the country imposed sanctions against two citizens of Iran and two Iranian companies for the supply of Russian drones - the European Union adopted such sanctions on November 14.

• The previous one - the eighth package of EU sanctions against Russia entered into force on December 5. It includes the introduction of the maximum price of Russian oil transported by tankers. The restrictions also provide for a complete ban for EU countries from this date to purchase oil in Russia supplied by sea way. The ban does not apply to pipeline oil yet.
• Russia said that it would refuse to supply oil and oil products to countries that will introduce the ceiling of prices. But at the moment, Moscow has not announced any formal decisions.
