The EU published the ninth package of sanctions against Russia
The European Union on Friday adopted the ninth package of sanctions against Russia. It has been published in the Official Journal of the EU and has entered into force.

As expected, the sanctions include a complete ban on the export of any aircraft engines and components to Russia, restrictions against three banks (VBRR, MKB and Far East Bank), four TV channels (NTV, Rossiya 1, Ren TV and Channel One) and "a large number of individuals and organizations."
It also confirmed the possibility of transactions with companies exporting grain and fertilizers, even if their owners are under sanctions, provided that the companies played a “significant role” in the market before the sanctions.
Under personal sanctions, in particular, senators and deputies fell, including Elena Drapeko and Valentina Tereshkova, Deputy Prime Ministers Victoria Abramchenko and Tatyana Golikova, a number of Russian ministers:
- Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture;
- Alexander Kurenkov, head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations;
- Sergei Kravtsov, Minister of Education;
- Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education;
- Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology;
- Maksut Shadayev, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media;
- Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection;
- Konstantin Chuichenko, Minister of Justice;
- Alexey Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
Also on the list are seven governors, including Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Astrakhan regions, two daughters of Kadyrov.
- From media personalities, TV presenters Boris Korchevnikov and Marina Kim, singer Grigory Leps, blogger Dmitry Puchkov, director Nikita Mikhalkov fell under the sanctions.
- In addition, the EU has imposed sanctions against Roskomnadzor.
- The EU also imposed sanctions against all Russian parliamentary parties (United Russia, LDPR, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Just Russia - For Truth, New People).
