Lipetsk authorities did not allow a rally “against the war in Burkina Faso”

Lipetsk authorities first allowed, but then revoked permission to hold a rally “against the war in Burkina Faso.” The administration believed that the organizer of the action, Alexander Grigoriev, was against the war in Ukraine. The man reported this on his page on VKontakte, and the publication was noticed by the publication 7×7.

On December 6, Grigoriev said that he had received approval to hold a rally under the slogan “We are for peace!” We are against the war in Burkina Fasso! He also noted that he “is not against holding a rally ‘No to the SVO!’”, however, “under this regime we have to speak the slavish language of Aesop.” “I will rally against the war in Burkina Fasso. And you can fight for peace somewhere in the kitchen, so that no one sees or hears you,” the man concluded.

On December 16, one day before the proposed rally, Grigoriev announced that the rally had been banned. “I had to explain that you are either for the war or against the war, where it happens, that’s the hundredth thing. The authorities found the VKontakte entry and on this basis banned the rally,” he clarified the reasons for the ban.

In a letter sent to the organizer, representatives of the city administration, with reference to the man’s first post, noted that he “does not hide” that he provided false information about the purpose of the event. On this basis, the administration revoked the previously issued permit.
