Three residents of Ivanovo were fined for publishing the video “Let’s remember the Crooks and Thieves their Manifesto 2002”

Three residents of Ivanovo were fined one thousand rubles each in May–June 2022 because of the publication of a video on social networks “Let us remember their Manifesto 2002 to Crooks and Thieves.” This was reported by the SOVA Information and Analytical Center.

All three were charged with distributing extremist materials (Article 20.29 of the Administrative Code). The Sovetsky District Court fined Yana Parshakova on May 5, and the Frunzensky District Court fined Lyubov Lavrentieva on June 20 and Valentin Belokrinkin on June 21. As Sova notes, they all published this video back in 2011.

The video “Let's remember the Crooks and Thieves their Manifesto 2002” lists the unfulfilled election promises of the United Russia party; its authorship is attributed to supporters of Alexei Navalny.

• In 2013, the court declared this video extremist - now fines and administrative arrests are imposed due to its publication. According to Sova, the ban on this video was groundless, and prosecution for its distribution was unlawful.
