In Minsk, the former investigator was sentenced to 11 years in colony

The Minsk City Court sentenced the former investigator Yevgeny Yushkevich to 11 years in prison. He was found guilty of organizing riots and inciting social hostility. The judge freed Yushkevich from criminal liability under articles on insulting Alexander Lukashenko and insulting a representative of the authorities at the expiration of the statute of limitations.

Yushkevich was detained in April 2021 in Minsk. Almost nothing is known about his business. The court was held closed, the Belarusian Radio Liberty Service reports .

Yushkevich graduated from the Law Faculty of Belarusian State University. Then he worked as a freelance employee in the Prosecutor's Office of Minsk and five years as an investigator in the Investigative Committee. In 2017, he resigned and began to engage in Android developments.

In 2020, Yushkevich founded the BYCHANGE project for retraining retired and fired for political reasons of law enforcement agencies. Yushkevich also published insidies from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee.

In May 2021, Lukashenko by his decree deprived Yushkevich with the title of senior lieutenant of the Justice of the reserve. At the same time, more than 80 former employees of law enforcement agencies and employees of the prosecutor's office lost their ranks.
