The Nizhny Novgorod regional court left unchanged the sentence in the regional “sanitary case” to journalist Natalya Rezontova - one and a half years of restriction of freedom. This was reported by her lawyer from OVD-Info, Yuri Sidorov.
In November, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court convicted Rezontov on charges of violating sanitary and epidemiological rules (Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code). For a year and a half, she is prohibited from leaving the city without permission from the Federal Penitentiary Service and attending public events.
sentenced The “sanitary case” was opened against Nizhny Novgorod activists after the rally on January 23, 2021 in support of Navalny, which allegedly created a threat of the spread of coronavirus. Roman Tregubov, ex-coordinator of Navalny’s Nizhny Novgorod headquarters, who is in Russia, is also involved in the case.
