“Go to hell, you sellout skins.” Human rights activists received this letter in response to a study on torture, which they sent to the chairman of the Chechen parliament

The “Team Against Torture” conducted a study of the practice of investigating complaints of torture in the North Caucasus and sent it to 68 recipients.

The study "The Arithmetic of Torture" was also received by the heads of regions, representatives of law enforcement agencies, as well as the head of the Chechen parliament, Magomed Daudov. Instead of a response, human rights activists received an unmarked letter, which, according to lawyer Ekaterina Vanslova, was allegedly written by Daudov or someone from his reception.

“Your team is a perverted community of “doers” who have sold their souls to Satan in the person of the STATE DEPARTMENT for 30 Silver coins! For that reason, go to hell, you corrupt skins!!" (spelling preserved)

According to the Team Against Torture, the average prison term for torture in Russia is 3.5 years, with 43 percent of convicted security officials receiving only suspended sentences.
