"Occupied by Ukraine." The management of Russian children's camps does not allow children living in the territories liberated by Ukraine to go home.

In the annexed Crimea, the administration of the children's camp does not let the boy from Kherson go home, explaining that the city is "occupied by Ukraine." The Guardian newspaper writes about this, referring to the boy's mother, whose name is not called.

The woman shared with reporters voice messages sent to her son by representatives of the leadership of the children's camp.

"You are in Russia! You don't have to do all the weird stuff. I don't know who will deal with you now, but you won't return to Kherson, that's 100%. You can thank your mother for this,” reads one of them.

As the newspaper notes, motivating his decision, the director of the camp also pointed to the pro-Ukrainian views of the child and his family.

The boy in question left for the camp on 4 October. As his mother said, the administration of the institution at first did not let him go home for security reasons, and then announced that Kherson was “occupied” by Ukraine.

According to The Guardian, parents of at least eight other children sent to rest in Russian camps faced the same problem.

So, one of the interlocutors of the publication said that at the end of August, her 12-year-old daughter from Balakleya in the Kharkov region went to the south of Russia and has not yet returned. The woman claims that "at least 100 of those who traveled with her daughter are still there."
