The Chinese payment system UnionPay has limited cash withdrawals abroad for users of cards issued by Russian banks. This was reported on the Primorye Bank website.
Russians who are abroad can now withdraw no more than 50 thousand yuan per day (just over 500 thousand rubles or 7.2 thousand dollars) and per year - no more than 500 thousand yuan (5.2 million rubles or 72 thousand dollars). Similar rules apply for withdrawing equivalent amounts in other currencies.
After payment systems left Russia, the Visa and Mastercard cards the demand for UnionPay increased sharply. They are issued by Gazprombank, Rosselkhozbank, Russian Standard, MTS Bank, Solidarity, St. Petersburg, Primsotsbank, Primorye, RRRR, Zenit and Post Bank. In April, foreign online stores began blocking cards purchases using UnionPay issued in Russia.
