Putin allowed officials not to publish declarations of property and income during the war

President Vladimir Putin has made changes to state policy in the fight against corruption. Among other things, he allowed officials not to publish their declarations during the war. The decree was published on the website of legal acts; attention was drawn project to it by the Faridaily of journalists Farida Rustamova and Maxim Tovkaylo.

This document comes into force from the date of signing. It will be in effect “during the period of a special military operation and until the publication of the relevant regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation.”

In July, Putin closed access to the Unified State Register of Real Estate. Now the data is available only to the owner, his spouse, as well as government employees and notaries. The rest can receive an extract only if the owner submits a statement to Rosreestr that he is not against providing the data to third parties.

Investigative journalists used data from the register, as well as declarations, for their publications on corruption.
