A new criminal case has been opened against blogger Vladislav Sinitsa, who has been serving a five-year sentence since 2019 for tweets about police officers' children, under the article on calls for extremist activity . Sinitsa himself denies the charges, the Network Freedoms project reports.

“My client, who is serving his sentence in Correctional Colony No. 1 in the Kostroma Region, is suspected of registering a Twitter account while in the medical unit, in which he negatively characterized military personnel and employees of the Russian National Guard for several days, and also called for violent actions against the Russian president and the Russian Federation as a whole,” lawyer Ivan Tamarov told TASS.

According to Network Freedoms, the Twitter account involved in the case was registered in October 2022. The first tweet appeared on October 13 — it contained a quote from the post for which Sinitsa received his current sentence. By October 24, about fifty tweets had been published on this account. Since then, it has not been updated, the project notes.

On September 3, the Presnensky District Court of Moscow sentenced Vladislav Sinitsa to five years in prison, finding him guilty under the article on incitement of hatred with the threat of violence. The reason was Sinitsa's tweet, in which he talked about the possibility of finding security forces and their children after the dispersal of the July 27 rally . The blogger himself claimed that he did not call for specific actions. The court considered his case in one day.
