The relatives of the Russian mobilized from the Samara region, who were in vocational school No. 19 in Makeevka at the time of the explosion, are not informed about their fate. Several military relatives told Important Stories about this.
On January 3 , it became known that the wounded were taken to the Rostov military hospital, where the governor of the Samara region, Dmitry Azarov, plans to visit them on January 4. But there are still no lists of the wounded or lists of the dead.
“There is no information about which hospital the husband is being taken to. In any case, they won’t tell you where they are being taken,” the wife of one of the mobilized people told Important Stories. “It’s already the third day, many women write and call me - they also don’t have any news, this, frankly, is very annoying. It’s clear that the phones were broken, someone ended up in the hospital, they lost their memory... But at least make lists, bitch! Who is alive, who is dead, who is in the hospital.”
According to her, at first they wanted to gather the survivors “so that they would go on the offensive,” but there was a “resonance” among the command.
“In connection with this, some part went, I don’t understand where, they all scattered. To go on the offensive would be a complete idiot, considering that they have nothing. And listen to higher authorities - for what? This is doomed to death in advance. Those who were smarter got together with their superiors and went in the other direction - to some kind of shelter. I think that they could easily be sent anywhere just to cover up this whole event [the investigation into the explosion],” she shared.
Another relative of a mobilized man from the Samara region told Important Stories that they “want to write off the men as unnecessary witnesses”: “A commission is going there, and we are afraid that they might be sent somewhere or hidden.” She did not explain what exactly was meant by “write-off.”
that “approximately 216 people” who survived want to be “sent to the front line or somewhere else out of sight.” wrote Pro-Kremlin journalist Anastasia Kashevarova also She later added that because of the “uproar,” the men were left in place, and some of them were taken for questioning to the prosecutor’s office.
According to information from the telegram channel VChK-OGPU, which is close to Russian law enforcement agencies, interrogations of the military are carried out by investigators of the Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee with representatives of military counterintelligence.
There are no exact data on the number of Russian military personnel present during the attack on the vocational school. According to the GRAY ZONE telegram channel, which the media associates with the Wagner PMC, there were 120-150 people in the building, which was completely destroyed - the losses could account for about half of them. According to the PMC-OGPU channel, there were over 400 mobilized people in vocational schools. 130 sleeping bags are being collected for those who survived the missile attack. The rest are wounded and killed.
Relatives of those mobilized are confident that the number of dead is more than the number officially recognized by the Ministry of Defense of 63 people. “They say that only 63 people died. Are they laughing or what? Considering that the 44th regiment was completely destroyed. Less than half remains,” the mobilized wife told Important Stories.
It is also unknown whether the removal of the rubble has been completed. On the morning of January 3, “military correspondent” Semyon Pegov reported a possible increase in the death toll as the rubble was cleared. According to him, the strike was carried out on another military location in the same Makeyevka.
“There are a lot of people there who have turned into mincemeat. They weren’t even allowed to pick up the dead guys, they weren’t allowed to bury them. They just lay there in that place. Many were scattered so that the pieces could not be collected. Many had nothing to cover - just minced meat,” the wife of another mobilized survivor told Important Stories.
She added that she fears her husband after returning: “I don’t know what kind of psychological trauma they will now have. I’m afraid that he will come home now, if he comes at all, lest he start strangling me in my sleep. These emotions are deposited in the subconscious - only God knows how it will turn out later.”
in several cities of the Samara region - Tolyatti, Novokuibyshevsk and Syzran were held On January 3, mourning rallies . The events were organized by regional public organizations “Combat Brotherhood” and the Women’s Council of the 2nd Guards Army.
In Samara itself, more than 500 people gathered on Glory Square, and spoke the wife of the commander of the Second Guards Army, Andrei Kolotovkin, Ekaterina, to them. “Together we will crush the enemy. We were left no choice. Neither we nor our husbands wanted war. But the whole West rallied against us. He rallied to destroy us, us and our children. But I assure you: our husbands and sons will not allow this,” she said.
On the evening of January 1, pro-Russian military blogger Vladimir Romanov wrote that mobilized people from the Saratov region were located in the vocational school building. On Monday it reported 200 deaths.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 63 soldiers were killed as a result of the attack on Makeyevka. The Department of Strategic Communications of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported about 400 killed and 300 wounded and posted a video of the consequences of the shelling.
