Detainees on New Year's Eve are fined and expelled from Russia

The district courts of St. Petersburg considered 69 cases of violation of migration legislation following mass detentions in St. Petersburg on New Year's Eve. This was reported by the United press service of the city courts.

Basically, the press service reports, all the detainees were appointed fines of 5 thousand rubles and fines with an obligation to leave Russia. Four people were placed in the Center for Temporary Contents of Foreign Citizens. In one case, the case was dismissed, according to the seven detainees the materials were returned to the police.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the UK, Alexander Bastrykin, who previously demanded to check the detainees on the New Year in criminal articles, made another statement on the situation. He instructed investigators in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region, Moscow and the Moscow region to submit reports on the “committing unlawful actions by foreign citizens”, statistics on the number of migrants in these regions and the use of their labor, as well as information about companies that attract them to work.

In the center of St. Petersburg, on the night of January 1, people, mainly foreigners, were massively detained . According to Fontanka, 1960 people were taken to the branches. The UK reported on the “prevention of more than a dozen attempts to use pyrotechnic products on Palace Square. Mass detentions took place in Moscow, where at least 350 migrants were taken to the departments.
