Payment by card "Mir" no longer gives a discount in the St. Petersburg metro

Petersburgers drew attention to the fact that the previously operating discount on the subway travel through the Mirpei application of the Mir payment system has stopped action from January 1 - a full tariff is written off from the card.

Last year, when paying for travel, the tariff contactless card was almost doubled - the benefit of payment in this way was up to 34 rubles. However, from January 1, 2023, Petersburgers pay full 70 rubles.

The action acted from the Mir payment system. Apparently, she just stopped her action. On the website of the system, the duration of the action was indicated on December 31, 2022. Now on the campaign page it is written that it is completed, although additionally this has not been announced.

Now the page of the “Mira” shares valid for the transport of St. Petersburg does not say a discount when paying the Mir card. At the same time, until December 31, 2023 there is a discount when paying with a “Unified Petersburger card” on the basis of the Mir system. The discount when paying for ECP and the Mir card continues to operate in the ground transport of St. Petersburg.

The metro of St. Petersburg on a page with a tariff schedule also indicates the cost of the fare of 70 rubles when paying the Mir card, as well as the MasterCardpaypass and Visapaywave systems. On the “Unified Map of the Petersburger”, the trip will cost 47 rubles, which is two rubles cheaper than a trip to the “Plantainer”.

The subway service in the 78 Metro confirmed that the Mir Cards should pay 70 rubles for a trip and such a tariff will remain throughout the year. The same applies to the owners of Visa and MasterCard cards.

A token in the subway and a ticket on the bus is rise in price by 5 rubles - up to 70 and 65 rubles, respectively. A trip on the Plantain in the subway will cost 49 rubles instead of 45, in ground transport - in 44 rubles (but in trams and trolleybuses, the tariff will increase only from April 1).
