The Norwegian court decided to confiscate from the Russians $ 7.1 million of criminal income (72 million Norwegian crowns). The news about this spread without an indication of whose money the Norwegian authorities confiscate. “Important stories” found out that the unnamed Russian is Anatoly Bernstein, the head of the Patriotic Association “Lenreurev” and former partner of businessman Dmitry Mikhalchenko, convicted of a loud criminal case on the embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the construction of the facilities of the residence of Vladimir Putin in Novo-Ogarsovo.
In June 2022, the former general director of the forum holding Mikhalchenko received in Russia 20 years in a maximum security colony for the theft of 1.2 billion rubles. Together with him, various influential people received long terms: the former head of the ATEX state-owned enterprise, the Federal Security Service (FSO) Andrei Kaminov, former head of the FSO engineering and technical support service, Major General Igor Vasiliev, as well as FSO lieutenant colonel Dmitry Ulitin and various entrepreneurs and managers.
The criminal case of Mikhalchenko could be a reason for the resignation of the old acquaintance Vladimir Putin - the director of the FSO Evgenia Murov in 2016. Mikhalchenko was arrested in the same year, linked him with a variety of things - from alcohol smuggling to theft of funds intended for the restoration of historical objects according to state contracts of the Ministry of Culture. Mikhalchenko was considered a man Murov, the businessman owned expensive assets, in particular the port of Bronka, who sold Murov's family. In 2021, the Russian court seized this port from the relatives of the former director of the FSO.
Anatoly Bernstein was a partner of Mikhalchenko. Earlier, Bernstein assured the media that Mikhalchenko had not communicated since 2015 and was engaged in his holding exclusively legal issues. Norway decided to withdraw Bernstein’s money from an account with the Norwegian bank DNB (a relative of Bernstein disposed of a count of Bernstein). He told the Norwegian media that this was money for legal legal services, and denied the illegality of their receipt.
Norwegian law enforcement officers drew attention to Bernstein, since he provided legal services to the ULC logistics and transport group, the activities of which were investigated by Norwegian and Russian law enforcement officers. The ULC Global group was one of the largest Russian customs brokers and carriers. And, as it turned out by 2017, it provided the largest channel of gray import to Russia. Her co -owner Igor Khavronov was also a long -standing acquaintance of Mikhalchenko. In 2018, Khavronov received seven and a half years of imprisonment.
