The SBU claims that she found warehouses of the Russian military in the temple of the UOC

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported on Friday about the results of searches in the buildings of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) in four regions - in the Kherson, Kirovograd, Dnipropetrovsk and Rivne regions.

It is argued, in particular, that on the territory of the Church of the Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt in the Kherson region, former warehouses with the property of the "occupation groups of Russia" were discovered and that these warehouses were equipped with the assistance of the rector of the Church, Archpriest Anatoly Kornev. The priest made contact with the leadership of the occupation administration and was in direct contact with representatives of the FSB, the SBU said. It is said about Korneva that he disappeared on the left bank of the Dnieper during the liberation of Kherson.

The intelligence service also informs that during the searches, its employees found "pro -Kremlin literature, agitation leaflets of political parties prohibited in Ukraine and Russian symbols." Separately mentioned in the premises of the Holy Trinity Meshiritsky monastery in the Rivne region "Propaganda materials of the association, headed by the suspect in Gosizman Viktor Medvedchuk ."

All discovered evidence, as noted in the SBU, is aimed at examination. In addition, suspicion of the secretary of the Kirovograd diocese under the criminal article "On violation of the equality of citizens, depending on their racial, nationality and religious beliefs, is reported.

In the fall, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies began to conduct searches throughout the country at the UOC facilities, which declared independence, but formally remaining in the structure of the Russian Orthodox Church. It was reported that during the investigative measures, including in the temples of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, among other things, “a large number of anti-Ukrainian materials” were found, as well as documents confirming the presence of Russian citizenship with the leadership of diocesan structures.

The UOC itself called for "not to kindle the internal war", and the accusations of collaboration against a number of priests were called "unproven and unreasonable," the Ukrainian Radio Liberty service writes .
