Mentions of LGBT representatives have been removed from the TV series Sex and the City, which recently became available on the Kinopoisk service with an additional subscription to Amediateka . This was reported by the Telegram channel Beware, News.
In the ninth episode of the first season, the word "gay" in the Russian translation was replaced with the word "boy". At the same time, the original audio track in English, also available on Kinopoisk, remained the same. In addition, from the sixth episode of the second season, a part of the scene was cut in which one of the main characters of the series says that she is not a lesbian. At the same time, in both scenes ("Beware, news" posted them in a re-edited form) due to the changes made, the meaning of what was happening was lost.
"Beware the News" does not specify whether all references to LGBT people have been edited out of all six seasons of "Sex and the City," a show in which one of the main character's friends is gay.
Updated . Kinopoisk stated that it has nothing to do with the change in the content of the series. “This series is presented on Kinopoisk by our partner, the Amediateka service. We, like other online cinemas working with Amediateka, provide access to the version of the content that this service transmits to us. We ourselves do not make changes to the partner’s content,” said representatives of Kinopoisk. Representatives of Amediateka have not yet commented on the situation.
