Results of 2022

2022... I think there is no point in retelling what 2022 was like... To put it mildly, it was difficult, and for everyone. I had to go through so much, rethink, relearn how to set planning horizons, make plans and think about how to live further. A year, the beginning of which was so promising (that now the pandemic would end, everything would be as before), and then it quickly became unclear what to expect at the end of it. It is painful to observe not only the news from the media, but also what is happening in your environment, how it is splitting, spreading, etc. There were periods when you could not do anything at all: neither work, nor write on a blog... And even when you wanted to, the new realities of the new era forced you to reconsider the concept of what to write and how.

Of course, for many people this year is so terrible that it is simply inappropriate to compare. But we all live in a more or less unified society, and in any case, it is difficult to remain in psychological balance, to pretend that everything is as usual, and not to feel some kind of empathy for those who have been particularly hard hit by this year...

But still. Life, no matter what, somehow goes on. All you have to do is do what you do, do it well and concentrate on your tasks and affairs. And in this regard, I must say, the year went quite well. It warms my soul that this year I was able to finally achieve a goal that I had been working towards for several years (and before that I spent many years trying to get there). I have come closer to another intended goal, but there is still a lot to come.

The brightest marker of my 2022 is, of course, Kuryanovo ! We lived in it for 8 months out of 12, became close to this area (I am writing this, by the way, while passing Kuryanovo on the MCD), so much so that at first I went on excursions around it, and then I began to conduct excursions myself! Most of the year passed in this cozy corner of Moscow.

This year, a lot of time was occupied by work and study, thanks to which, among other things, I visited the State Duma for the first time in my life, in that very famous meeting room throughout the country, and a few days later - in the Public Chamber, where we presented a detailed report we had compiled about trolleybuses in Russia .

At the beginning of the year, we had a chance to conduct a study on the operation of Moscow trams and create some hype in the media about the fact that they began to run less frequently and worse.

But blogging has become more difficult. There was less time and energy for him, and financial motivation (not the main one, but still) collapsed in connection with all this. It has gotten to the point that LJ has lost links to photographs in posts over the past 2-3 years, and I have no time to correct all this. Nevertheless, I force myself not to abandon the blog, although there is already an insane amount of posts to publish in the stack.

At the same time, it was not possible to leave for a long time, and somehow, from time to time, the longing for big trips began to creep in. It’s not like I’m sitting at home all the time, but I feel that long trips to distant countries of 3-4 months are no longer enough. Well, the environment is also tense. I hope that in 2023 there will be more opportunities for this.

On the other hand, you look back: so much has happened! The new year began with Ivanov . Then I visited Ryazan twice (with a chase for an old collapsing accordion trolleybus ), and there was a railway tour. In March, something happened and the trip to Egypt was cancelled. There were fears that now there would be no more flights to other countries, but no! Already in April there was a two-week Turkey , then in the summer - a two-week Italy , in the fall - a week-long Georgia and Armenia , and then in the winter - Egypt !

Between all this there were many small trips: twice to Tula (on one of which I got acquainted with the “ Saturday Snail ” project). to Divnogorye Park, to Minsk to the MAZ-Eton plant and for bank cards , to Vilnius, where I accidentally ended up on a trolleybus ride , on boats along the Volga from Nizhny to Bolgar, several St. Petersburg (as many as 4 of them), and local Serpukhov and Podolsk.

There were also two very rapid trips due to the sad reasons for the closure of electric transport: Belgorod at the end of June and Ust-Ilimsk in December. I arrived in Belgorod by train literally 6 hours the day before the trolleybus closed to see how it runs along the new BRT dedicated section on Shchorsa Street . And the second time I deliberately took the trouble to fly to cold Siberia for 4 days for a lot of money in order to catch the unique Ust-Ilimsk tram, and my visit quite by chance fell on the last day of its operation.

And so you look through the albums - and indeed, it turns out that so many interesting things have happened this year. What can we all wish for next year? Of course, so that it is better than 2022! I wish everyone the Russian national payment system throughout the world, a Soviet chainsaw, your dreams come true and delicious champagne on New Year's and all other nights (or tea and Pepsi-Cola, if you don't drink). We set off on another trip and celebrated the New Year traditionally on the train! I hope that you also met him cheerfully and in good company! Happy 2023!
