A court in St. Petersburg overturned the decision to terminate the criminal case of a participant in an anti-war rally

The St. Petersburg City Court overturned the decision of the court of first instance, which dismissed the criminal case against Kirill Korolev, a participant in the anti-war rally on March 6, 2022. The publication “ZAKS.Ru” is about this.

reports Thus, the city court satisfied the prosecutor's appeal to the Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg and sent the case for a new trial. Korolev was accused of using violence against a police officer (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). In September, the court dismissed the case and imposed a fine of 50 thousand rubles on him.

decision A criminal case was opened against Korolev immediately after his arrest at the rally on March 6. The next day he was sent under house arrest. According to investigators, the young man took part in an anti-war rally and pushed with both hands a policeman who was detaining another man.

Korolev's lawyer Mark Alekseev OVD-Info that he asked the court to dismiss the criminal case and impose a judicial fine on his client. The defense attorney pointed out to the court that Korolev compensated for the harm to both the injured police officer and the public.
