In the Saratov school No. 11, the first memorial plaque in Russia was opened in Russia in honor of the prisoner recruited in the Wagner PMC and who died in the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian BBC service.

“Ensign Kovirzin Denis Aleksandrovich was awarded the medal“ For Courage ”and died during the fighting while participating in a special military operation,” the board says.

Kovirzin’s boards and ordinary Igor Smirnov were opened on December 9, but the journalists only now learned the details about the life of Kovirzin.

Journalists found that Kovirzin served in the Russian Guard and is a war veteran in Chechnya. In 2016, the Moscow District Court of Moscow appointed him 7.5 years in a maximum security colony - the man was found guilty of the murder of the “persons of Tajik nationality”, the newspaper writes with reference to the appeal definition of the Moscow City Court.

Kovirzina was sent to one of the colonies near Nizhny Novgorod, where the security forces are serving a sentence. It is reported that the Wagner PMC recruited prisoners there - journalists suggest that this is how the former security officer was at the front. In August, he died, and was buried in a cemetery in Balashikha, where he used to serve.

It is not officially confirmed that Kovirzin served precisely in the Wagner PMC. It is also not known whether he was pardoned before being sent to the front.

On December 13, at the gymnasium of the city of Guryevsk in the Kaliningrad region, the name of the deceased Russian military Alexei Katerinichev was named after the post of deputy head of the pro -Russian administration of the Kherson region.

“The life and feat of Alexei Viktorovich are a moral lesson for all gymnasium students, a debt lesson and honor,” the report said.

In honor of Katerinichev, a commemorative board was installed in the gymnasium.
