The tenth package of EU sanctions against Russia could be ready by February 24, the anniversary of the start of the war, Reuters reports, citing anonymous European diplomats.
The agency also believes that Lithuania and Poland intend to achieve inclusion in the new package of sanctions against the Russian nuclear sector and restrictions on the trade in Russian diamonds. It is also expected to disconnect new banks from SWIFT and deprive several Russian media outlets of European broadcasting licenses.
The ninth package of EU sanctions came into force on 16 December. The restrictions included a ban on the export of aviation engines to Russia and the revocation of broadcasting licenses from several Russian TV channels.
