The data of 3.5 million Mail.ru mail users appeared in the public domain, RBC reports. Among the published data are email addresses, nicknames, names, surnames and phone numbers of users.
“Users are not in danger, the service is securely protected. The results of the audit showed that the published data is related to the leak of a third-party service at the beginning of last year. Specialists additionally conduct a thorough check, ”the company commented on the leak.
Roskomnadzor reported that the regulator will check information about a possible leak of personal data of Mail.ru service customers.
According to the telegram channel "Information Leaks", the leak of Mail.ru user data was made by the same source that previously published the data of Russian Post customers, the Vkusvill store and the Geek Brains educational portal.
