Unknown assailants beat up defenders of Trinity Forest

Unidentified people in balaclavas beat the defenders of the Trinity Forest. This is reported by the telegram channel RusNews.

The activists saw that a new felling had begun in the forest, while there were no information boards about the felling, and the workers called themselves “passers-by”. When the defenders of the forest tried to find out what was happening, the men in black balaclavas told them: “Get out of here, you can’t walk here!” The defenders refused to leave, then they were beaten.

“They beat us so as not to leave marks: men were thrown to the ground, women were thrown,” said Olga Slastunina, a lawyer for the initiative group for the preservation of the Trinity Forest.

• In the Trinity Forest (New Moscow), eco-activists and caring local residents are regularly on duty, who oppose the cutting down of some trees to build a school. At the beginning of the winter of 2022, the confrontation between the defenders of the forest and the builders who work in it intensified.
• So, on February 12, 2022, the police detained more than 10 people who were on duty in the Trinity Forest. After that, on February 17 , 18 , 21 and 22, the police in different districts of Moscow searched for the participants in the gathering, detained them and drew up offense reports against them.
