Leading Analyst FSIN left Russia

The leading analyst of the FSIN in Moscow Anna Karenikova left Russia due to pressure from the Office of her own security (USB) of the Federal Penitentiary Service. As Karetnikova told the Agency, the security service threatened her with problems, including the prosecutor's office.

Details. Karetnikova left Russia at the end of last week in a hurry. On Thursday, she was going to visit the “sailor silence”, and on Friday, January 13, crossed the border, leaving behind the 14 years given to the problem of Russian prisons.

• Karetnikova asked her son to send a statement about dismissal on the same day when she left Russia. The FSIN was asked to rewrite the application, and on Thursday Karetnikova sent it already in the right form. She believes that she was already fired.

Context. Anna Karetnikova has been working in the Moscow Office of the FSIN as a leading analyst since 2016. Prior to that, she was a member of the Moscow Public Supervisory Commission (PMC) of Moscow for more than eight years. In an interview with Novaya Gazeta, Karetnikova explained the change of place of work by the fact that "it will be a continuation of work to protect the rights and legitimate interests of prisoners, those who are sitting in Moscow investigative insulators."
