Irina Sidelnikova and her son Dmitry live in a dilapidated wooden house in the very center of Krasnoyarsk. Two years ago, Dmitry received a production injury, damaging the tendon on his right hand. Since then, he cannot find a job and has unsuccessfully tries to arrange disability. Irina is a disabled person of the 2nd group. At some point, the mother and son were no longer able to cope with utility bills. A year and a half ago, in the house, electricity turned off for debts. Without light, as well as without firewood, for which there was no money either, they lived, or rather, survived.
Before the New Year, the Krasnoyarsk television company TKK launched the project " Give firewood ". Residents of the region, who literally freeze in their homes without heating, call the hotline and leave applications. Journalists have created an interactive card with the addresses of those who need help. There was a request for help from the Sidelnikov family on this map, including whose life was told by Siberia. Reals. After this publication, our readers came to the aid of Sidelnikov.

Irina one -story house is among several of the same wooden buildings almost in the very center of Krasnoyarsk. This is Nikolaevka - the old district of the city, where a private sector was demolished several years ago, which fell into the new bridge over the construction zone through the Yenisei. However, some of the houses remained unexplored, being in a dense ring of urban skyscrapers and a wide automobile interchange. They just forgot about these people.
Irina leaves the gate of her house, leaning on a cane, launches into the courtyard, shows her economy.
- Here we had a bathhouse, here the shed, all this had to be taken out for firewood, they thought we would not survive this winter at all.
Last year, Irina’s husband died from Covid. All the money, including those that were postponed for the purchase of firewood, went to the funeral. Gradually, the family plunged into hopeless poverty, the exit from which was not visible. There was neither light nor warmth in the house.
“All my life I worked as a masseuse in the regional hospital of wars veterans, I didn’t sit at home, I had one single record in my labor, and I couldn’t even imagine that I would have to live like that,” says Irina. - Massages made soldiers who returned from Afghanistan, from Chechnya, he heard so many stories, but we not only work with our hands, but also pass through the heart. It hurts so that now the boys are dying again, mothers do not understand for what. Even if they return to the alive, how much they will have to rehabilitate ... There is a war, and we are here as in war, for survival, literally, you can’t call it differently. Until recently, I accepted customers at home. But when it is cold and there is no light - how to do massage?
Two doors lead from the canopy in different half of the house. In the first, the parents of Irina once lived, a large, Russian stove recently collapsed there, and now the wind is walking around the room. The door in the first half of the house was pounded and vicious, as they could. But from there the frost is still making its way.
In the second half of the house, Irina and Dmitry live. Now it is already comfortable here, in the middle of the room, the chill stove is warm. After the publication of our material, firewood was brought twice by Irina. The neighbors helped to fold the logs, and now the family is not freezing.
- Nobody has so much interested in our life so far. And now a great joy, we are now warm. We met Christmas in the warmth, however, by candles. I am a German by nationality, in our family there has always been a Catholic Christmas was the main holiday. They prepared for it, washed the house, put a Christmas tree, set the tables, it was a lot of delicious: a chicken from the oven, salads. Even the mother -in -law, although it was Russian, supported me, celebrated with us. Now on the table everything is very modest, at a minimum. It is only bad that there is still no electricity.

We sit in the center of the room, under the only source of light-a naked lamp hangs from the ceiling without a lampshade, the wire from which stretches somewhere outside the window.
“This is to the neighbors,” Irina explains. - They sometimes help us to charge the phone or turn on the refrigerator in the summer. For this, of course, we are calculating. We honestly tried to pay for electricity, but I have a pension of 14,000 rubles, no matter how you put it off, remains only on products. My health began to deteriorate, diabetes mellitus, intervertebral hernia, and my knees are very painful - a serious operation is needed. Some of the drugs are given to me for free, but there are very expensive ones that I have to buy. In general, we pulled, pulled and once realized that we could not pay for electricity, especially since the plus for the debt for the light had to pay a decent amount for the connection.
I tell Irina that the article on the Siberia website. Realia came across on the Internet to our reader Elena Klimova from Perm, who wants to pay for electricity debt - 8500 rubles, accumulated by Sidelnikovs.
“Oh, it’s so inconvenient for me,” Irina replies. - I worked all my life and could not even imagine that I would live to do so.
Right from Irina, we call Krasnoyarskenergosbyt and explain the situation. We say that the money was found, and we are ready to pay the debt. The operator replies that Irina needs to come to an appointment personally.

We ask you to record us for the earliest time. The next day, December 30, at 8.30, we come to the office. All the necessary documents from Irina are neatly collected in daddy. Half an hour - and the papers are re -registered, the debt was paid. The operator woman is terribly surprised: "How is it a year and a half without light?!" He calls the network company, they promise that they will give light today after dinner. Irina returns home in high spirits.
- Now I will get a garland, I will put a Christmas tree. Well, we were not going to celebrate at all, they didn’t cook anything, I can’t even believe it.
However, neither December 31, nor January 1, there were no good news. And Irina's phone was unavailable. Only on January 3, she called back, loading the phone at the neighbors. She said that the electricians came, examined the wires, and then, without explaining anything, gathered and left.
- Well, how so? There is no debt, but everyone torments us, well, for what?
We call Energosbyt again. From there they replied that according to all the data that they have, Irina should have electricity.
- And if he is not?
- Call the RES (regional electric networks), they are engaged in connection, not us.
-So we paid you!
- Well, we sent an application to the RES, here is its number, write down and find out.
But it was impossible to get through to the RES - instead of the operator, an endless answering machine. I found the phone of the Rosovsky call center. I got through and explained the entire background for a long time. As a result, I was asked ... in which city I am?! It turned out that the call center of regional electric networks is located ... in Altai. An employee of the call center could not explain why the debt was paid, but there is no light. And he suggested: "... go with your feet to the substation of the Oktyabrsky district, find the electricity transport department there and ask them." Irina cannot “go with your feet” - the legs are sick, besides, overtake the thresholds and tell everyone about her poverty, she is simply shy.
I myself had to go to the storm of the substation. I saw a huge iron gate, where the guard did not want to let me in for a long time, explaining that they did not accept any visitors here. As a result, still breaking through the gate, I saw a man in a blue working overalls.
He was in a hurry somewhere, but, having listened to the story of Irina, suddenly imbued with sympathy and asked the address. Then he left somewhere, after 15 minutes he returned with the words: "Everything, turned on!" He got into the repair car and left.
I called Irina, she replied that there was no light and no.
I made the next call to the press service of the RES. And again she told Irina’s story from beginning to end. The press service was also surprised: "Like a year and a half without light"?! And they promised to help. Soon a team of electricians came to Irina, who ... also could not do anything.
“We must climb onto the pillar,” said the man in the jumpsuit with the inscription of the RES on his back.
- Well, so climb.
- We cannot. This brigade does, not ours.
Another brigade had to wait until January 13. As a result, the light in the windows of Irinin's house caught fire only on the most eve of the old New Year. We (and my whole family was already ill for Irina) exhaled in relief. We could not resist, went to make sure by ourselves. The lights were really burning in the windows: Irina managed to buy and screw the bulbs, in a large room she hung a garland - there was nothing left of the holidays, but she really wanted to dress up the house.
The next day, I finally sent Elena to Perm the photo of Irina, where she stands at the luminous windows at home and thanks for the help. We phoned.

“This story really hooked me very much,” said Elena. - I know that most people in the country do not live richly, sometimes they cannot provide themselves with the most necessary. The trouble is that the majority used to consider them some kind of asocial personalities. But this is far from the case. Here is Irina - she worked all her life. And now I have to live in such conditions. I only imagined that she could not warm up in a big city, sits in the dark, goes to the stop to charge the phone, this is some kind of trash, is unthinkable simply. This should not be. But most importantly, you can cope with all its problems, they are not fatal, it can be helped, which is why I decided to participate in her fate. I am not a millionaire, I also have limited opportunities. In my life there was a time when I did not earn, my mother helped me. And Irina, apparently, is completely nobody to help. But we are all people, which means we must support each other. I was also very touched by the fact that she is ready to get out herself, do massage at home and earn. But this opportunity for her was closed by a banal absence of light. She needs not a fish, but a fishing rod - this is the main thing.
Now in the house of Irina there is both light and warmth. And the first massage customers have already signed up for it.
“I really want to work in order to at least somehow pull us out of this pit and no longer save debts,” says Irina. - My son even started a page in social networks - for advertising.
