The first president of Kazakhstan, 82-year-old Nursultan Nazarbayev, has been hospitalized, according to the former head of the Khabar TV channel Alexander Aksyutits and RIA Novosti.
Aksyutits said that 82-year-old Nazarbayev was taken to one of the clinics in Astana for a cardiological examination. According to RIA Novosti, the first president of Kazakhstan is in the national scientific cardiosurgical center. After media reports, Nazarbayev's hospitalization was confirmed by his representative, Aidos Ukibay.
“Nursultan Nazarbayev underwent heart surgery. Operation was successfully completed. There is no threat to the life of the first president. Now he is under observation,” the spokesman said.
