In the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD), inflation accelerated to 11.6% in December after 11.5% in November. This is lower than inflation in Russia as a whole (11.9%). Prices have increased mainly due to the indexation of housing and communal services tariffs.
Inflation accelerated in four republics - North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya and Ingushetia. In Dagestan it remained almost unchanged, but in the Stavropol Territory and Karachay-Cherkessia there was a slowdown.
The highest price level in the district was observed in Ingushetia (18.6%). The region's self-sufficiency in food and non-food products is lower than in other subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District.
