In St. Petersburg, the court sentenced a man who curled up the lanterns on the lion's bridge in June. This was reported by the press service of the city prosecutor's office.
Marseille Williamovich Romero Tamayo was found guilty of damage to cultural heritage objects (part 1 of article 243 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court found that on the night of June 26, 2022, he was intoxicated by the floor lamps with lanterns. The damage amounted to more than 159 thousand rubles.
Romero was deprived of their freedom for eight months with a serving in the colony-settlement. He will also have to compensate for the damage caused.
The 31-year-old man was detained on June 28. The law enforcement agencies and the press service of the courts did not report the measure of restraint, but if Romero was in jail, then he had already left for seven months from his punishment.
The restored lights returned to the lion's bridge in October.
