Garbage defenders are asking to recognize Basevich’s house with a monument

Close -defenders applied for the identification of Basevich’s house as an object of cultural heritage. According to the Telegram channel "City Protection Press Center", the application has already been registered in Smolny.

The application was signed by an architectural historian and a member of the regional branch of Ikomos Alexander Kretschmer and the deputy chairman of the Council for the preservation of cultural heritage under the Government of St. Petersburg and the chairman of the Society for the Protection of the Monuments "Old Petersburg" Mikhail Milchik.

Close-defenders propose to be taken under the protection of dimensions and a volumetric and spatial solution to the construction of 1912, capital walls, architectural and artistic solutions of the front and courtyard facades, ceremonial and stairs, as well as elements of the architectural and artistic solution of several apartments.

As the city defenders write, KGIOP registered the application on January 23. Now the committee has 90 business days for a decision on the application. During the consideration of the application, the law prohibits any dismantling work at the facility. City defenders note that the Investigative Committee on this basis has already stopped demolition on Khrustalny Street and Oktyabrskaya embankment.

In October, the UK banned the demolition of Basevich’s house and recognized the building with material evidence in the criminal case against KGIOP officials. But in December, the SK removed the status of material evidence from the building, explaining this by the fact that the developer Setl City presented the necessary documents about cultural heritage sites, as well as the conclusion of the KGIOP. A few days later they began to demolish the kindergarten at the Basevich’s house.

On January 18, the City Court of St. Petersburg left the decision of the Kuibyshevsky district court: the building was recognized as emergency and subject to demolition, with the exception of half of the facade wall. The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, after that instructed his subordinates in St. Petersburg to continue the investigation of the demolition of historical buildings.
