Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who recently visited Ukraine, called on Western countries to immediately provide Kyiv all the weapons that the Ukrainian authorities are asking for the Ukrainian authorities to combat Russian aggression.
In a column published in the British newspaper Daily Mail, Johnson described his impressions of visiting the suburbs of Kyiv Buchi and Borodyanka. He visited Saturday, accompanied by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. During the Russian attack on Kyiv in February and March last year, hundreds of civilians died there.
According to Johnson, the immediate supplies of the Western countries of the West of Tanks and other heavy weapons to Ukraine can quickly lead to the collapse of Russian defense, the liberation of the occupied territories and the end of the war. "What the hell are we still waiting for?" - Johnson asks the question, indicating, in particular, to the indecision of Germany on the issue of the supply of tanks "leopard" to Ukraine.
"Where do the Western world now need tanks? To defend the Northern Rhine-Westphalia? To guard Tennessee? Riding the villages in Wiltshire?" - Johnson asks with irony. “The faster we help Ukrainians achieve an inevitable victory, the faster the whole world will be able to begin to recover after the disaster that Putin arranged,” the former British prime minister said.
Johnson also called for the rapid approval of the decision on the adoption of Ukraine to NATO, as well as to the supply of other types of weapons, including military aircraft. According to the British prime minister, he "neither on yota" does not believe the allegations that the supply of weapons and the onset of Ukraine will lead to a nuclear strike from Russia. The possibility of using nuclear weapons was hinted at high -ranking Russian officials, such as Dmitry Medvedev and Vyacheslav Volodin. According to Johnson, if Russian President Vladimir Putin uses nuclear weapons, this will become a disaster for himself - China and ordinary Russian citizens will reveal against him.
According to Johnson, the goal of Western supplies should be to ensure the success of the Ukrainian offensive in the south of the country. The former British prime minister believes that the cutting of the so -called land corridor in Crimea will mean the victory of Ukraine in the war.
