Biden, following Scholz, announced the transfer of modern tanks to Ukraine. Washington will send 31 Abrams to Kyiv

US President Joe Biden announced during his speech at the White House that Washington will transfer 31 M1A1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv.

According to Bloomberg correspondents, the total cost of the tanks is estimated at $400 million.

In turn, the French Ministry of Defense reported that the first modern French AMX10-RC wheeled tanks would be delivered to Ukraine in February.

Earlier today, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany would transfer 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, as well as allow other countries to re-export vehicles of this model.

Since the beginning of the war in February 2022, the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated the need for the supply of modern tanks by the Western allies.
