In Syzran, Samara region, the reconstruction of the Battle of Kursk took place in the university gym. It was organized by the non-profit organization "Cohesion", headed by the deputy of the City Duma from the faction "United Russia" Sergei Ivanov. According to the Notebook publication, last year a presidential grant of 2.2 million rubles was allocated for this.
A video of this “reconstruction” has been circulated online. In the footage, two groups of people dressed in Soviet and German uniforms from the Great Patriotic War roll four plywood tanks around the gym, banging on their hulls to simulate shots.
Sergei Ivanov himself said that the reconstruction took place five times, and all expenses were justified. According to him, more than two million rubles were spent on a portable exhibition of the heroes of the Second World War, dummies of machine guns, payment for the services of a videographer, an accountant's salary and military uniforms.
Ivanov believes that he has been criticized in connection with the upcoming elections and because of his party affiliation.
“They drown not only me, but also my other colleagues from United Russia. Our opponents have created a page on the Vkontakte social network where they pour mud on us,” Ivanov said.
Social activists from Syzran wrote a statement to the prosecutor's office against deputy Ivanov. She, in turn, began to check.
