German authorities confirmed reports of the transfer of modern Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine

Germany will transfer 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, and will also allow other countries to re-export such tanks to Ukraine. This, according to Bloomberg, is stated in a statement by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Earlier, Polish authorities announced plans to supply German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Later, Spain announced its intention to join these deliveries.

In addition, as Reuters reported, today US President Joe Biden may announce US plans to supply modern American M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022, the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated the need for the supply of modern tanks by the Western allies.
