"Finally, the understanding came that nothing threatens us"

Vadim Kobzev is an activist of the “headquarters of Navalny” from Rostov-on-Don. He was sent four times to serve administrative arrest. In addition, he passes a witness in the criminal case of laundering money in the FBK. Kobzev and his wife in the spring of 2022 left Russia in Georgia in the hope of getting a German humanitarian visa, but they were refused. At the end of August, the activist told the “cold” that he was not safe in Georgia and would like to get asylum in the European Union.

After the release of our publication with Kobzev, German journalists from Deutsche Welle and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung contacted and wrote articles about it. Soon the activist called the German embassy in Georgia and reported that they were ready to give out a visa. Already in October 2022, Kobzev and his wife moved to Germany. “I don’t know what ultimately influenced the decision to give us visas: publications in the media or something else,” says Kobzev. - I wrote letters to deputies in Germany, appealed to human rights organizations. Some of this helped. "

According to Kobzev, he and his wife would very much like to return to Russia. But they understand that in the coming years this is impossible. “Even if the war with Ukraine ends, this will not mean the fall of the Putin regime. It will be dangerous to return to us, ”Kobzev believes. - Therefore, we now associate the future with Germany. Here we finally came to the understanding that nothing threatens us. ”

"When the war ends, I will definitely take care of Ukrainian citizenship for my son"

Ukrainian Julia Terentyeva moved with her son to the Moscow region in 2006. There she got married, gave birth to her second son and divorced. When the war began, Terentyeva decided to leave Russia, but could not accumulate money for moving. After the mobilization of the mobilization, Terentyev realized that it was impossible to hesitate, and left for Kazakhstan. All this time she received threats from her ex -husband. Terentyeva wanted to get to Lithuania to her friend, but could not: there were no necessary documents for the youngest son.

Since January 2023, Julia and his sons have been in Lithuania, where she left through Belarus and Poland thanks to the help of readers of the Astra and the Cold Telecase channel. “Astra opened a fee for us twice, and the reader of Kholoda helped us with groceries in Kazakhstan and transferred money to pay the state duty to documents to the eldest son. I can’t imagine how we would have coped without this help! ” - says Julia. Her classmate, who left the yellow waters in March of 2022, sheltered a family in Lithuania.

Terentyeva and her sons have already received humanitarian residence permit in Lithuania. Julia and her eldest son are looking for a job to pay for utilities in the apartment where they are visiting, and the youngest was arranged in school as a Ukrainian. There are special conditions for such children in Lithuania schools. At the school where the youngest son of Terentyeva is studying, they are supposed to free food and lessons of the Ukrainian language. Ukrainian children are also issued a free set of office and printouts of some lessons in Russian.

“It’s a little anxious that my son, while a Russian citizen, will study at the Lithuanian school as a Ukrainian child,” Terentyeva says. “When the war ends or at least dense shelling of the Dnipropetrovsk region, I will return home and will definitely take care of Ukrainian citizenship of the youngest son.” It turned out that the youngest son of Terentyeva, despite her hopes, could not count on the early receipt of the Ukrainian passport: at the time of his birth, both of his parents had Russian citizenship.

Terentyeva continues to act threats from her ex -husband. “He continues to write that I am a traitor with Bandera porridge in my head that I have no homeland. Only now the accusations were added to this that I took his son from him, ”says Terentyeva.

"I have to sit in a swamp"

Galina Bastrygina is 81 years old, she lives in Yekaterinburg. Unlike many retiremental Russians, Bastrygina has opposition views. By August 2022, she already had three fines in the amount of 85 thousand rubles for anti -war shares. At the end of the summer, the pensioner told the “cold” how her eyes opened with the coming to Gorbachev’s power and that now she has to hide hikes from children to rallies.

In September 2022, Bastrygina entered another picket after a mobilization announcement. “Dear police! Do not leave for Ukraine, we are no - no, ”was written on her poster. For this picket, the court appointed a pensioner a fine of 300 thousand rubles. “The IT's My City publication announced a fee. The entire amount of 300 thousand was collected in 50 minutes, ”says Bastrygina. - I asked to close the fee, but the money went and went. A few hours later there were already 600 thousand. I spent extra money on the closure of fines to other people. ”

Bastrygina says that if she once again left the picket, she would have been waiting for her not administrative punishment, but a criminal one. Until November 2023, Bastrygina could not take part in rallies or marks. “I have to sit in a swamp. I go to meetings, to the courts to other activists. Such a seat is disgusting, of course, but it is necessary, ”she says.

"Not a victim of political circumstances, but a person who defends himself"

Kirill Fedorov is a psychologist who has been working in the human rights sector for 10 years. He defends the rights of LGBT people in Russia, talks about HIV prevention, works as a psychologist with adolescents. On September 2, Fedorov was introduced into the register of “media-foreigners”, but he decided to stay in Russia and dispute his recognition by the “foreign agent”.

“You know why I did this, understanding how things are with the judicial system in Russia? Because I am convinced - you need to fight for myself. Defend your rightness. Saying the system: “What is happening is wrong. It’s impossible to with me,” Fedorov wrote on Instagram. “They often ask:“ What should we do in Russia? ” Do not make life easier for the system that is trying to eat you. Pull it if you have encountered her. Let it take place more resources so that there are less on the rest. ”

On January 18, 2023, the first court hearing was held to challenge the status of "Inoage". The next is scheduled for March. Fedorov told the "cold" that the status of "foreign -agent" did not affect either his work or his personal life. “For me, this court is psychotherapy. I am not a victim of political circumstances, but a person who defends himself, ”Fedorov wrote on Instagram.

After the annexation of Crimea in 2014, Evgenia Surikov ( the surname was changed ), along with her husband, left Russia. At the end of 2021, the family briefly returned to the country to sell real estate. But Surikova had to stay: she found cancer. Now she, along with her daughter, cannot leave Russia due to treatment, and her moryak husband can come to her homeland due to mobilization.

Since October 2022, Surikova managed to meet with her husband in Estonia several times. “The daughter is very bored,” says Eugene. - He considers the days until rare meetings with dad and is ready to miss the sake of their important sports competitions and New Year's holidays at school. We maintain contact: we call up, photograph the drawings for dad. But the fact that he cannot just return to our house is madly angry! ”

Back in October last year, Surikova told the “cold” that she periodically faces the lack of the necessary drugs and needles of Guber ( special needles for washing venous port systems ) in St. Petersburg pharmacies. Now, Eugene had to contact a private clinic, where she had to pay an injection and the purchase of a basic hormonal drug, which she used to receive for free: neither the original drug, nor his Russian counterpart on sale can not be found. “What do people do who do not have extra six thousand rubles a month for an injection, I do not know. Apparently, they just die slowly, ”says Surikova. - I wrote complaints both to the city health and the Ministry of Health, hung on their phone for several hours. But they closed me everywhere. Now I am collecting documents to undergo treatment in a private clinic for compulsory medical insurance. There is still a drug I need. ”

She was also told in the city industry that compensation for the purchase of medicine was not provided, although it is included in the federal list of vital drugs and, according to the law, should be provided free of charge by the state. With complaints of the absence of these drugs, Surikova was advised to contact the prosecutor's office.

"If not for the collection, then I would not pay this fine"

The 34-year-old resident of Volgograd Vitaly Gotra was born in Ukraine, and in 2012 he moved to Russia and received Russian citizenship. In the summer of 2022, Gotra printed stickers with anti -war text and put them in several places of the city. For images and text on the stickers, he was sent twice to serve administrative arrest (in total for 22 days), and also fined 691 thousand rubles. In August, Gotra’s apartment was searched: he and his wives seized equipment and documents. Due to pressure from the security forces, Vitaly had to quit work.

Soon after the publication in the “cold” about Vitaly Gotra, a report on the Rain TV channel was released . As he said, the correspondent Sonya Groysman, who shot the plot, created a page for collecting money for his huge fine on the site " At the same time ". “The money came in waves: about half the amount was collected immediately after the plot was released,” says Gotra. - The wife cried for several days. For us it was some kind of fantasy, we did not think that someone would help us. Together with money transfers, people sent support words, it was very pleasant. " According to Gotra, all fines were paid at the end of November. Thanks to the complaints and actions of the lawyer, it was possible to return the equipment and documents seized during the search.

“If not for the collection, then I would not have paid this fine. So many thanks to Sonya Groysman, who shot the plot, and to everyone who participated, ”says Gotra. Now Vitaly is studying programming. In the future, he plans to find remote work, which will allow him to leave Russia.

"I don't have the situation to run"

At the beginning of the war, the deputy of the Yekaterinburg City Duma Alexei Kholodarev publicly opposed the war in Ukraine. For this, two administrative protocols on the “discrediting of the Russian army” were drawn up for him, and also excluded from “Fair Russia”.

In August 2022, the deputy served 14 days in the new case-for the repost "VKontakte" of the five-year-the-age of the film-investigation of the FBK about Dmitry Medvedev "He is not Dimon to you." Kholodarev was found guilty of demonstrating extremist symbols: the video contained the logo of the FBK banned in Russia.

In December, Kholodarev filed three complaints in the ECHR against all decisions of the Sverdlovsk courts made against him after the outbreak of the war. Despite the fact that Russia no longer executes the decision of the ECHR, the deputy considers it important to "prove to himself and others that he was right." “Today, decisions will not be executed, and tomorrow criminals in Russia will be imprisoned and decisions will already begin to execute. Reasonable people hope for this, ”he says.

On January 24, 2023, Kholodarev was deprived of two unpaid posts in the City Duma: Deputy Chairman of the Commissions on Economic Development and Budget. According to him, in the declaration he had minor violations - other deputies for the same only issued a warning.

Despite the persecution by the authorities, Holodarov is not going to leave Russia yet: “It seems to me that this would be an extreme case for me. I have not such a situation to run. It can be one -way path. ”
