Anarchists from Chita, persecuted because of “Death to the regime” graffiti and telegram posts, have had their preventive measures tightened

Security forces detained Chita anarchists: tenth-grader Lyubov Lizunova and musician Alexander Snezhkov. After this, the court tightened the measure of restraint for them, sending Snezhkov to a pre-trial detention center and Lizunova to house arrest. This was reported by the publication Sibir.Realii with reference to a friend of one of the defendants in the case.

According to the ABC Irkutsk telegram channel, Lizunova was detained in Irkutsk, and Snezhkov in Omsk. Since January 13, they stopped communicating. The activists are accused of calls for terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and extremism (Article 280 of the Criminal Code), as well as under the article on vandalism motivated by political hostility (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code).

Initially, Lizunova and Snezhkov, along with their friends, were detained by FSB officers on October 31, when they were spraying “Death to the regime” graffiti on a garage cooperative on the outskirts of Chita. The detainees were taken to a gymnasium not far from the cooperative, then employees of Center “E” spoke to them, who subsequently took away the activists’ phones and released them.

It soon became clear that Lizunova and Snezhkov administered the telegram channels Shugan-25 and 75ZLO , which attracted the interest of the security forces. The channels posted publications about the burning of military registration and enlistment offices. Based on these posts, the schoolgirl and musician were charged with calls for extremism and terrorism. As a preventive measure, the anarchists were given a written undertaking not to leave.

As Snezhkov’s friend suggests, the defendants in the case violated their recognizance not to leave, because of this they were sent to a pre-trial detention center and under house arrest.
